Thoughts....

A friend sent me this and I thought it would be nice to post it here.

These are thoughts of the day as I leave for my first class this semester. Praise God this year I have 90 students in Architectural Photography. 10 more than the previous year.Hope and pray that I will not only be a good teacher but also a good witness for Him.

In his article "Career and Calling," Steven G. W. Moore writes, "If career is about making a living, then calling is about making a life." I find these words deeply profound. We are so concerned about finding something to do with our lives that we fail to be who we are. We spend so much time asking God to show us his plan for our lives that we fail to live the life he's already given us.

We have relationships, responsibilities, and commitments. These are the places God wants us to live authentically as his witness. Too often we wait for something grandiose, the perfect job or the next best thing to come along. Instead, we should look at where we are right now.

A dozen years ago a friend spoke to a young audience and said, "You can't get what you need because you're all covered up with what you want." God provides for our needs. Our wants however distract us from fully recognizing the provision.
It's been said, "God created us in his image. We've been returning the favor ever since."
It's also been said, "There are two things to know about God. First, he is in control. Second, you're not him."

Getting lost in our desire for control, getting our wants confused with our needs, and failing to live the life we have—these are all perilous. They are insidious distractions that keep us from building the kingdom of God.

Greetings my friend! Very true thoughts and we just have to be reminded that deep within most christians is the determination, the strength, and our will to survive. These blessings comes from the almighty and we should eternally be thankful, nothing more, nothing less. Cheers to you and goodhealth as well. Flu starts to set it on me, but garlic and honey and tea will do the trick, I hope. Take care.

  2. Yes Manong, very true! As one survery goes, most of us are on the waiting mode: waiting to finish school, waiting to get married, waiting for promotion, waiting for a better job, waiting for retirement, etc, etc, that we fail to live the life we have.

Your friend is right, "This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it."
