Sick???

Going overseas is not easy. I had a medical exam at the extension hospital of a well known hospital (world class daw eh). I did not know that it takes several days and worst, months depending on the health situation of the applicant going abroad.

Generally, I would say that the staff are nice except for two of the doctors who interviewed me.

One of the doctors where you have to go inside and disrobe everything talked to me as if I were a child and he were very much superior. I do not have to describe it here. I thought I was the only one who was treated that way. While seated, I heard the same comments from the other applicants who had gone into the same room. One of the applicants, who is a doctor himself had even confronted the doctor about the way he was treating the applicants. If I heard it right, the applicant doctor rebuked the interviewing doctor saying, "Parehas lang tayong doctor, hindi dapat ganyan ang trato mo sa mga pasyente!" (You and I are both doctors. That is not suppose to be how you treat your patients!).

Then another doctor, a lady, did the same thing. After a series of questions as to whether I smoke, take drugs.....etc, she said, "Do not tell a lie!" This same statement was actually blurted out by the earlier doctor I mentioned above. It was as if I had been telling a lie when I said no to all her questions.

Then with a twist to prove that I might be telling a lie, with rudeness, she posted my x-ray and said, "Look at your x-ray, we saw a "bukol" (growth) which can either be a benign or malignant cancer!" I can not deny I was a bit shock and stared at her blankly. She uttered it in an accelerated gear as if intending to haunt me:(. Out of respect, I was looking at her eye to eye while she was talking. In a demeaning tone she said, "Huwag ako ang tignan mo, 'yung x-ray!" (Sabagay di karapat dapat titigan ang ganong doktor:)) (Do not look at me, look at your x-ray!). I actually recorded it:).

I had to seek a pulmonologist as the latter doctor advised me. I went back to the hospital to sign out my x-ray but they did not allow me to have it. The nurse told me that I had to have a request but then said it is not a guaranteed that it can be taken out. Well, what is the use of seeking a request. I ended up having to have another x-ray. Grrrrr.....

The pulmonologist I went to at the Lung Center was the exact opposite of the two doctors at the hoapital I mentioned earlier. The thing is, he did not even charge me for the consultation:)after knowing what had happened.

I am thanking the Lord for people like him, families and friends who stop by and say they are praying or have shown their concern in many ways. the world shines better when you and me meet kind people. No cheers for the two doctors:).

In spite of all that had happen, the LORD's goodness can never be altered by circumstances!
