I was saddened when I heard that one of the guys who recently joined the choir went home without taking the final exam because he had not paid his remaining balance at school. Also, one of the choir members who has 11 siblings almost did not take his final exam, too, because of the same case. I loaned him some until I found out I needed more when I went to the doctor. A friend’s offer rescued me. Yet I never stop dreaming of a Kalanguya Foundation that will help Kalanguya students who are not necessarily geniuses, but are determined to finish the course and could hardly make it due to financial difficulties. Chances of scholarship are often given to those that are on top of the class, but what about the average students. Can they finish a course or degree? There are many potential Kalanguya students, not with a geniuses mind, but diligent when given something to work on. Many capable students are neglected because they are not in the bracket that most foundations would grant a scholarship for. I am still praying for this. May you pray with me as we reach out these people. I know that education will open more opportunities for these people when they have at least finished their education, especially in the third world country I am in. There are many dropouts and out-of-school youth today because of financial problems.
People who receive assistance will in turn help when they get a job by giving some amount to help the next students who will be needing assistance. By this, they will also help their countrymen. This opportunity will also allow us to share the love of Christ as we both meet their spiritual and other needs.
I will pray about this matter with you. Thanks for blogging about it.
