Do Not Forget To Help!
Efeso 2:10 (Ephesians 2:10)“Ta hi Diyoh i namalsuwan hi-gatayo; at nihaya law, maiadig ay bello kihon palsuwa ni namadtian tayon Cristo Jesus, hiyay hota pehed ni ameg i amegen tayon nayon, ta higod ni hiyaman i palano ton piyan ton amegen tayo.”
Sometimes, we hesitate to offer help for fear that we might just hear a rejection with a phrase like “No, I do not need your help!” Especially if we have experienced being rejected before. There are people who think they can handle all things. So is it improper then to help? Is it then safer to keep from offering help to be away from trouble?
There was a story of two young men. They were Mario and John, students who went to the same school. They have never met. One day on their way home, John was behind Mario a couple of meters. Quite afar, John sees Mario carrying many books. Thus he says to himself, 'Does this guy do not even bother to play on weekend?' He was telling this to himself because he knew that he spends some time playing on Saturday or Sunday.
When John was almost near Mario, there were group of men that pushed, punched and kicked Mario leaving him helpless on the ground. His eyeglasses were thrown far that he could hardly see. While trying to locate his eyeglasses, John came to his rescue handling over his eyeglasses. With a smile on his face, Mario gladly said thank you. This was the time they get to know each other. They found out that they were going to the same school. They went home together trying to tell story of their experiences until John accompanied Mario up to their house. This was the beginning of their acquaintance which eventually became a stable friendship where they spent time playing on their free time.
Time came for their graduation. It was Mario who had to give a valedictory address. When John saw that Mario was quite worried of his speech, John spoke a word of encouragement that gave confidence to his friend Mario. Mario gladly welcomed John's words of encouragement with a smile on his face.
He started his speech by stating that, “On graduation day, it is the time when we give thanks to parents, relatives, teacher and, friends . I want to tell to all of you here that the best gift that we can give to a person so he/she would feel that we care or love is our time. I want to tell a story. There was a day when I planned to put and end of my life that Sunday. But I am grateful that nothing bad happened. My friend kept me away from doing that thing and that which is even dreadful act a person would do.”
While Mario was talking, John could hardly believe what he was hearing. All he thought was just that he helped Mario a bit when he accompanied him to their house. He learned one very valuable lesson that day. That even a small kind of kindness becomes precious when done from the heart because God makes it precious than gold in the lives of other people.
God allowed you to be born. He has a definite plan, to use your life so other's lives might be blessed. God loves you so dearly that He chose that you exist or is alive.
Ask Yourself
Since God gave me new life when He saved me, is the plan of God in my life that is to do his will is what I seek? Is it to help other people that I often think of?
Ikaladag: Apo Diyoh, di ameg tan hapit ko, pehed komay amegen kod gait kon too. Amen.
Prayer: O God, in my word and deed, may I choose to do to others what is right. Amen.
Pehpehed!May the Lord be with you as you write the Kalanguya devotional guide amd may the Kalanguya people be blessed by it...God bless manong...
