A smile is a priceless gift that can be expressed to anyone, young and old alike. The global consultation on music and missions I attended at Bethel University in Minnesota was a good one. I had a chance to interact with some of the different Christian leaders from different parts of the world. It is an encouragement to talk to successful Christian leaders without any "put ons," stuff that differentiates one from the other. All, including the plenary speakers, were on an equal stage. It was interesting to converse with them, learning from their good and bad experiences in the field. There were two plenary speakers who were at the same time "participants" even though they were recognized for their many years of service in the field. Their hairs have grown white and gray in the field yet they are fulfilled because their lives have been spent for the cause of eternity. A life with a purpose.
One thing that I saw in common among the participants was the smile that is evident on their faces. I feel at home rather than being homesick because of the fellowship I see and feel among the brethren even if we do not know each other. It must be a taste of what it will be like in heaven when all God's people get there. Smile like this child, without pretense. (The photo here is a child of G-Poy (Filipinize name for Geoff) and Erica who became my friends after the GCoMM-Global Consultation on Music and Missions in Minnesota. It is one of my favorite shots that I took when I was in Minnesota for eight days. I have actually put it in my desktop to remind me that I must always be like a child before God).
True indeed!Very inspiring.Keep smiling (",)
ReplyDeleteConsidering I am the mother of this smiling child, I get the privilege of being reminded of God's goodness everyday. Thanks for seeing what I see!
