The foremost thing I am forever grateful to God is... He sent missionaries (who obeyed)to share the Gospel in our village.
Many years ago, our place could only be reached by helicopter or after days of hiking. When people hike up or hike down (especially when there is a typhoon), land slides can be a part of the struggle before being able to reach our village. Still lucid to me, the surrounding forests are so thick that most of the path we would hike into were covered with tall trees. All of these inconveniences to our missionaries did not keep them from leaving until they knew people had grasped what they wanted to share with them.
In one instance of difficulty the missionary staying in our place faced was when rebels were so active and that they had to go down to the town. These rebels took away communication equipment and other stuff.
If missionaries had not come to our place, we would still be in bondage to traditional beliefs such as fearing the spirits, worshiping the sun, the trees etc...
Having been convinced of the Word of God (which was translated into our mother tongue-the OT is still on going), we now join with other believers all over the world in honoring the Creator of the universe we live in.
I now know why I exist and the reason why I am living. May the reason I was put here on earth be fulfilled while my days are being counted.
Thank you to all missionaries, as well as those who are missionaries by being faith partners, future missionaries, those who are still in the field and those who have gone back to their countries after spending years or most of their years in the field and are still ministering to people in so many ways. Surely your labor is not in vain. I am one of the results of their living testimony of God's grace.
Our thanks to those missionaries who reached out to us and to the missionaries who have partnered with us so that we could go on. To HIM be the glory. You have set and are setting an example for us and the generations to come. An investment that will neither be taken nor be stolen or only last for a billion years, but for eternity. Take heart, your Labor in the Lord is not in vain. May we, whom you have passed the baton on to, do the same.
Yes, thanks to the missionaries as well as people like you.
