His Compassion Never Fails

Last February 11 and 12, I attended a wedding and a funeral respectively. We had to hike for more than an hour on a slippery road (it would be hours for non-hiker on a muddy and slippery mountain road:) ). We managed to arrive unharmed. Thank God for his protection.

The man who died is the father of one of those young people who, even if he wanted to go to college, could not because of financial needs. He has 9 siblings, plus 6 half brothers and sisters, 16 in all. I was able to talk to him. I told him that if he plans to go to school this year, I would like to help by any means. I mentioned that I will be able to help him pay his tuition fee. The school he will be going to costs about three thousand pesos per semester (about $60). About six thousand pesos per year. Should there be a way I could help him in other needs such as food, lodging, and other school needs, I will be willing to do that as God enables me. Esther agrees to support one depending on how we may see things.

My heart breaks when I see children and young people not being able to go to school because of poverty. In this connection, I am starting to support someone this year. This will eventually become a Kalanguya foundation that will meet the educational needs of the Kalanguya. In the process, the children will be housed in a place and will be taught with God's word- a holistic approach to meeting people's needs. This is a vision I want to come true in the future as God touches people's hearts to partner with me and see the vision materialize because of people who care.
